Winter = the most miserable time of the year Spel = the Swedish word for “games.”
The pandemic has been a weird time for everyone. That really goes without saying. A lot of things have changed, lives were completely turned upside down, old habits fell by the wayside, new habits were formed.
Around our house, we formed a couple of rather odd new habits. Among those is what we’re calling Winterspel, a curated series of midwinter holidays designed to help keep spirits soaring high and the seasonal depression at bay until it’s springtime again. Everyone knows taking down the Christmas decorations and staring a cold, dreary January in the face is a huge buzz kill — especially during a global pandemic. Winterspel (formerly known as Winterter) was our antidote to being stuck inside and unable to hang with friends outside in the cold.
And as of today, Winterspel is finally LIVE to the general public! Just in time for our first holiday — the beginning of CARNIVAL!
